It's Five O'clock Somewhere

I bought our Jimmy Buffett at Alpine Valley tickets this week, so either that or the threat of more winter weather this week must have me in a Margaritaville mindset. This card looks better in real life--more muted and artsy. I got the idea to use the glasses as clock hands from Karen Strom-Shikaloff in the Winter 2009 Take Ten publication by Stampers' Sampler.

Something Different

Very different than most my cards: I used my Cuttlebug to emboss, Outdoor Denim ink, watercolor pencil, waterbrush, and the Intrinsic Backgrounds, Butterflies, and Moments in Time stamp sets. I also sponged in the background, and dribbled water on the lower areas. The words, which are a little difficult to read in the photo, are: "Plant Smiles, Grow Laughs, Harvest Love."

Guess What Jess Got?!

Jess's cousin Heather brought her an awesome gift on Saturday. It was a . . .

SNUGGIE!
Now she can eat, talk on the phone, and use the remote without that dang blanket getting in the way.

Just for Fun Cards

I just wanted to make something fun last night, and came up with these two cards:

Happy Birthday, Nick!

Nick is 16 years old today! This picture is two years old, but it's one of my favorites of him.

Happy Wedding Day!

to my friend who got married in secret today. Congratulations! You not only share your anniversary with the nylon patent (1930), but also the birthdays of Sonny Bono (1935), rapper Ice T (1958), and John McEnroe (1959).

Antique Postcard Workshop

I'm planning a card class for February 28 using antique postcards. Here are some examples I made recently using bits and pieces from old cards. They're more impressive in person when you can see how old they are. Most were mailed between 1910 and1920.

Set of Wedding/Anniversary Cards

The couples in this set are all cut from antique postcards.

Pretty valentine

Finally...a new post. I haven't been feeling very creative lately, but I think I'm ready to start up again. I made this valentine with Elegant Bouquet paper, which is discontinued, but for sale at a discount right now on my CTMH webpage, and a new CTMH stamp, You Are Beautiful. I think they look great together. I colored the stamped image with water color pencils and blended with a waterbrush.
