Beachy Card

I always like a beachy card (or decoration, or drink, or vacation).  My inspiration for this one came from Pinterest.  The original card had coral instead of flowers and a fish instead of a shell, but the basic colors and layout are lifted from someone else.

The colors are CTMH's Lilac Mist and Sunset.  The stamp sets used are CTMH's "Air Mail" (background text), "Catching Waves" (flowers), and Quick Cards "Shell" (shell).  The white piece and the shell are attached with dimensional adhesive.  The Lilac Mist mat was embossed with my Cuttlebug.  I added a little shading on the shell and flowers with a light grey (C1) Copic marker.

 

Beach Chair Card

 

Using one of my favorite sayings again, I made this beachy card using all cardstock.  The beach chair and drink are dies from QuicKutz ("beach chair" and "coconut drink").

Tropical Drink Wedding Card

 

A friend of mine needed a wedding card for a destination wedding she's attending in the Dominican Republic, and I came up with this beachy card.

The coconut tropical drinks are made from QuicKutz dies called "Coconut Drinks," and I added the hearts for more of a wedding theme.  The hearts, and the one in the corner, are from an SU punch.  The waves across the bottom are an EK Success border punch.

Another SU heart punch and a sentiment from the Stampendous! "Paradise Beauty" set.  I got both the dies and the stamp set from Archiver's at a deep going-out-of-business discount.

 

This was a perfect project for me to work on today, because while I worked on the card,

THIS was my view.  It's hard to tell with the screen looking all funny, but it snowed AGAIN this morning.  Enough all ready!

Sand Between Her Toes Card

Both the image and sentiment on this card are from Artistic Outpost's "Boardwalk" stamp set.  I colored the bathing beauty with Copic markers.  The B&T paper (Dakota) and Lagoon cs are both from CTMH.  The black strip of tape is from Recollections, and the embellishments are from CTMH.

Sand in Your Shoes Card

"May you always have a shell in your pocket and sand in your shoes."  I found this quote on Pinterest and loved it for a beachy card.  The sunrise picture is one I took at Orange Beach, Alabama.  The background paper is really much darker and is from CTMH's new "La Belle Vie" paper pack.  The flowers and butterflies are also from CTMH.  I freehanded the sentiment with CTMH's new metallic silver pen.

Beach Card / H2H Challenge

This week's H2H Challenge was a sketch:

I turned the card horizontal and took the word "image" literally for this beach card--the photo is from my 2010 gulf coast vacation.  I used papers from CTMH's Magnifique paper pack and stamps from CTMH's Daydream stamp set.  The umbrella is paper-pieced and fringed with paper from Magnifique.  The top of the umbrella is raised.  I used watercolor pencils to color the shovel & pail image and the sun.  All the papers are edged in CTMH's Pacifica ink.

Art Impressions Mother's Day Card

Third post today, and it's not even 10 a.m.!  The bathing beauty on this card is a stamp from Art Impressions, which I colored with my copic sketch markers.  The water is made from a CTMH stampset, Adorning Corners.

Beach Card

This card has a lot going on in it--maybe too much.  The background B&T paper is from CTMH's "Moon Doggie" paper set, and the blue cs is CTMH's retired Star Spangled Blue.  The stitching along the right of the blue paper is fake.  I embossed a line from the back (so the raised line was on the front), sanded the line, then punched holes along the "stitched" line.  Awesome, huh?  I learned it from Tresa Black's blog.  The beach scene and writing are a stamp from Art Impressions.  I colored it with my Copic markers.  (Not sure if I made that a sunrise or sunset!)  The flower is from CTMH.  Not sure where the flip flops came from, but they were buttons, and I removed the shanks.  Finally, there's a length of Tim Holtz's tissue tape across the bottom.
