Another Yellowstone Park Layout

I love looking at all my pictures from Yellowstone.  I used black cs as my base for this two-page layout, and then layered it with a blue b&t paper from the CTMH retired "Lucky" paper pack.

 

I stamped the bottom of the blue b&t with black ink and a stamp from the Tim Holtz Visual Artistry collection.  It's the same stamp all the way across the bottom; I just stamped it at different angles and heights to make it look different.  The sentiment is from CTMH's retired "Happy Journey" stamp set.  The ribbon and butterflies are also CTMH.  The black bling flourishes are from Recollections.

 

I used dimensional adhesive on the sentiment to pop it up.  The butterflies are only glued down the middle so their wings pop up for extra dimension.

The second page has some CTMH New England Ivy and Chocolate cs pieces. 

 

It's partially hidden, but I stamped a mountain scene with CTMH's retired "Beautiful Things" on the cs piece on the upper right.  I colored it with water color pencils and added just a little bit of sparkle with a Spica pen.  The white flower and black embellishments on this page are CTMH.  The grey centers of the flowers are from Recollections.

Avonlea Birthday Card

This card has several elements, but it's really simple and came together pretty quickly.  The papers are from CTMH's new Avonlea paper pack.  I freehand cut the banner pieces, punched holes in them and strung them with ribbon.  The ruffle towards the bottom is just folded paper that's been distressed.  I used a lot of CTMH's new Slate ink for distressing.  This might be my new favorite ink color.  The butterflies are from CTMH's "Delight" stamp set.

Collage Tag

I finally experimented with some of the Lindy's Stamp Gang products I bought after playing with them at Tresa Black's Creative University last winter.  After stamping the background of this tag with a newsprint stamp, I sprayed it with Tiffany's Blue Starburst Spray & Van Dyke Sepia Shadow Mist.  You can't see it from the photo, but the background has a very shimmery look.  I painted the butterflies with some Yasutomo iridescent watercolor paint.  The bright blue centers of the flowers and the highlights on the butterflies are Lindy's Stamp Gang Tiffany Blue Magicals powder.  This was my first attempt at this type of collage art, and I can see how easy it can become addictive.



Spiral Pop-Up Birthday Card

I used CTMH's Lucy paper for this birthday card.  The large butterfly is from CTMH's Quick Cards stamp set "Butterfly," and the little butterflies are CTMH Flutter Paper Shapes.  The sentiment (front and inside) is from CTMH's "Card Chatter - Birthday" stamp set.  The front mat is Grey Wool cs.  The butterflies are popped with dimensional adhesive, and ribbons are attached under each one.  It's hard to see in the pics, but the small butterflies have glitter down the center, and there are glitter accents on the large butterfly too.

Here's the surprise inside:

There's a spiral that pops up, attached to either side of the card, and it's covered in hearts. Originally, I was going to add more butterflies to the spiral pop-up, but I decided hearts worked better with the sentiment (wrapped up in love).

A CU Inspired Card with Footloose

I've been home sick for a couple days with bronchitis--yuck.  (CU'ers:  The cold I had in Idaho turned worse after I got home--I hope I didn't infect any of you!)  I've also been frantic to get to my studio to do some crafting since returning from CU.  Unfortunately I can't craft and lay on the couch at the same time, and the couch has won.  But, my good friend Cheryl was hospitalized last weekend, and I have to make her a card, especially because they wouldn't have wanted me to show up at the hospital in my state.  Definitely calling upon ideas I took away from CU, here's what I came up with:

I love the Footloose papers and colors.  I used them for the first time at CU in Sheila's class.  The little flowers, flourishes, bling, & general layout look a little like Michelle L.'s tin.  And Joy, although she wasn't a CU instructor, inspired me to get out my Cricut (along with all the other women who were easily cutting out shape after shape at CU).  All the Cricut shapes (the labels, the flourish, & the butterflies) were cut from the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge.  And, what did Michelle N., inspire me to do?--this one will be obvious:

I added a pop-up to the inside of the card!

Find Your Style Congratulations Card

I used CTMH's Find Your Style Stamp set for the butterflies, and You and Me for the words.  The background is CTMH smoothie cs embossed on my Cuttlebug.  Ink colors are CTMH's vineyard berry & black.

Fancy Fold Birthday Card

The first picture is the card unfolded. I used Emporium papers, Butterfly Kisses stamps, and rubons, liquid glass, and stickles. The folding looks more difficult than it is, and it stands up nicely to display. I'm thinking about doing another version for a workshop.

This is the front of the card folded up. It fits into a normal envelope when folded.

I got this idea from the CTMH message boards (sorry I can't remember from who) and I believe they got the idea from Split Coast Stampers.
