Extreme Happiness

These great hibiscus are from the new stamp set "Extreme Happiness." I used the second generation rock & roll technique (shown on p. 23 of the Summer 2009 Idea Book) to get the varied color on the petals. The background paper is from the new "Moon Doggie" Level 2 paper packet.

Play Time

This little hula-hooper is from the new stamp set Play Time. The paper and ribbon are from the new Creative Basics / Animal Cookies Collection.

Makin' Waves

This duck, along with the waves and bubbles, is from the new stamp set, "Makin' Waves." I used Liquid Glass on the duck and Stickles on the life preserver. The Stickles made the ink bleed a little, and Jen (Obi Wan of stamping) suggested using Staz-On ink to prevent this.

Popcorn Card

I was away from work for two weeks, so I brought a huge bag of movie theater popcorn in to the office as a thank you to my coworkers for keeping my work done during my absence. I made this card to go with it. I used markers to color the popcorn stamp (different shades of yellow for the popcorn), and a little glitter on the popcorn to make it look oily and salty. I used a little liquid glass in the circle portion of the popcorn box.

Odd Birthday Card

Just playing with some papers today, and here's an odd birthday card I came up with. (I really need to quit taking photos after sunset.)

Folio

These pictures are awful, but here's a folio I made from a pink file folder, folded the long way, then accordian folded.
This is the front, when closed with a ribbon tie.

This is the front of the folio, opened.

This picture shows some of the five tags.

And this is the back.

Nick's surgery

Nick's scoliosis surgery is Tuesday. His CaringBridge site is here: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/nickrawls

Jessy Rawls "Miss Cub"

Today was Jessy's first day as an Iowa Cubs intern. She toured Principal Park and did a lot of manual labor.

It's Five O'clock Somewhere

I bought our Jimmy Buffett at Alpine Valley tickets this week, so either that or the threat of more winter weather this week must have me in a Margaritaville mindset. This card looks better in real life--more muted and artsy. I got the idea to use the glasses as clock hands from Karen Strom-Shikaloff in the Winter 2009 Take Ten publication by Stampers' Sampler.

Something Different

Very different than most my cards: I used my Cuttlebug to emboss, Outdoor Denim ink, watercolor pencil, waterbrush, and the Intrinsic Backgrounds, Butterflies, and Moments in Time stamp sets. I also sponged in the background, and dribbled water on the lower areas. The words, which are a little difficult to read in the photo, are: "Plant Smiles, Grow Laughs, Harvest Love."

Guess What Jess Got?!

Jess's cousin Heather brought her an awesome gift on Saturday. It was a . . .

SNUGGIE!
Now she can eat, talk on the phone, and use the remote without that dang blanket getting in the way.

Just for Fun Cards

I just wanted to make something fun last night, and came up with these two cards:
