Cinderella's Castle

 The Iconic Symbol of Magic Kingdom

So many pictures of the castle at Magic Kingdom....

I used another paper from Sandy Lion for the background, which included the castle silhouette at the topo right. The paper castle on the right was cut from my Cricut, and I added Blue Lagoon Nuvo Glitter drops.

"Castle" was cut out on my Sizzex Big Shot with a Thinlets Tim Holtz alphabet.

The photo at the bottom right was made by Disney and included in our Photo Pass extras.

Notice the two photobombers in the bottom left picture of to the right (Tom & Finn).

Mad Tea Party

 Disney Classic

First, this page should probably have been an Alice in Wonderland theme, but I didn't have any Alice paper, and this Winnie the Pooh paper from Sandy Lions' Disney paper stack went well with the colors and had a lot of circular pattern to it.  

The title is done with stickers, and I added the Tigger chipboard character. The pictures on the ride aren't the best because they were at night. The bottom picture of Shae was in one of the original cups located at a shop in Disney Springs.

Rainbow Days

 Disney World Rainbow Favorites

Finn and Shae LOVE Rainbows. If given a choice, they chose something with a rainbow theme over anything else.

The background paper is from the Sandy Lion Disney paper stack. I cut out the rainbow on my Cricut, and I handwrote the journaling and title. I added a rainbow of colors of Nuvo Crystal Drops to the title and the journaling. (That's a glare on Jess's face I didn't notice until uploading this photo.)

Shae's "Guys"

 Winnie the Pooh Theme

 

As long as Shae had her "guys" (what she calls any little person or animal character figure), she was pretty happy. She brought several with her, and Grandpa bought her some Winnie the Pooh themed guys on our first full day. Luckily, she knew exactly what she had because she noticed immediately if one was missing, so we didn't usually have to backtrack far to find the missing guy.

I used Winnie the Pooh papers from the Sandy Lion Disney paper pack and added some Pooh chipboard embellishments. I handwrote the journaling and added Nuvo Crystal Drops to match the papers.

I have a distinct memory of how dang hot it was this day. We were at EPCOT waiting for Finn, Neal, & Jess to ride Test Track. Shae was more than happy to get out of her stroller and line her guys up on that ledge.

Shopping Layout

 Three-Page Layout All about Shopping

This layout is a three-page story. I'll put the first page (above) on a right-hand page across from a single-page layout, and the next two pages will be side-by-side.  The background paper is from the Sandy Lion Disney paper pad.

It's a little hard to see in the picture, but I took a second page of the same paper (I knew I wouldn't use two), and cut out Minnie's hands and the sign she's holding. I glued that cutout on top of the first page's picture, using dimensional adhesive. In person, it looks like the sign is coming off the page a little. I also added Fun Flock (remember that?) to the heart for extra texture/dimension.

The next two pages are just collage pages of pictures of shopping on more Sandy Lion paper. I added the dollar signs with Nuvo Crystal Drops (woodland green).

(NOTE: We did not buy everything pictured. When they wanted something, we appeased them by taking a picture so they could remember it if they wanted to choose it later. Disclaimer: They did get a lot. Grandpa Tom is a softie.)

This page of Sandy Lion paper was a perfect place to put photos of worn-out kids. The "ticket" in the middle was cut from Echo Park papers and then punched with a reverse corner punch. The little Mickeys are also a punch. The thought cloud is a sticker, and I used Nuvo Glitter Drops (silver moondust) on Minnie's glasses. I also added the yellow dots with Nuvo Crystal Crops (dandelion yellow).

Another Character Moment Layout

Dancing with Timon

 

Another "Disney Magic" moment I'm so glad we captured in photos. Timon from Lion King came out to Discovery Island at Animal Kingdom and began dancing. Many kids were dancing around the area, but Shae ran right up and started dancing with him. They danced until Shae was ready to quit. She was so happy! I think she was just so cute that the other people stood and watched instead of cutting in for a dance. We could hear people during the whole trip commenting on how cute she was with the characters. This was a really fun memory to think about while I made the layout.

I did all the journaling in Word and printed it on cardstock. The musical instrument paper is from the Sandy Lion Disney paper pad (actually made for the Winnie the Pooh theme), and it matches perfectly with Timon's fur. I matted it with a sunny orange cardstock and tied a couple strings around the layout and knotted them above and at the bottom of the photos. Super easy, but it conveys the moment pefectly. Shae won't remember the moment, but she'll know it happened from these saved memories. 💓

Toy Story Land

 Slinky Dog Dash

This is a pretty busy layout, but then so is Toy Story Land. I used paper from Sandy Lions Disney paper pad and cardstock. All the little dots are Nuvo Drops. The bottom picture is the ride photo, and the top photo is Finn proudly meeting the height requirement to ride Slinky Dog Dash.

Radiator Springs

at Disney's Art of Animation Resort

Sometimes a layout doesn't need extra embellishments, and that's what happened here:

This two-page layout is from yet another area of Disney's Art of Animation Resort: Radiator Springs from the movie Cars. 

All of the paper on this layout come from a large paper stack by Sandy Lion. I couldn't find a title to this paper pad except "Disney." It has 150 sheets (3 sheets of each design. I think there were 5-6 different papers that were Cars themed.

"Cars" and "Radiator Springs" were cut out with a lower-case Sizzix alphabet. I matched the color of the letters and shadows to the words in the billboard in the upper lefthand photo of the first page.

Finn & Shae loved seeing all the Cars characters and taking pictures with them. They could name them all. I cannot name one.

Disney Junk Journal / Travel Journal Final Post (Post 6)

Journaling our 2019 Family Trip to Disney World

THE SIXTH AND FINAL POST OF THIS SERIES!!!
Thanks so much for following along. I hope you checked out all six posts.

This page has a center band with two tags inserted beneath it:

The right side has a pocket and a Mickey punch as a page tab. It's already bent at the ears, but that's okay. This is a junk journal.

In the pocket is a mini folio:

It's a great way to add space for photos and journaling when you don't want to add whole pages to your journal.

The next page has a curved-edge flap on the left that opens:

(One of my favorite pics of Shae on the bottom right, BTW.)

The right side has a cute pic of the kids.

The next couple pages are pretty Shae-themed. The right side has a pocket with a tag:

I really like the Pooh & friends silhouettes on the next pages. They're from a Disney-themed 12x12 paper pad by Sandy Lion.

Both sides of pockets, and each pocket has a top folded insert for more pictures:

The next polka-dot pages are all about shopping.  In the end, what worked best was letting the kids tell us EVERYTHING they wanted, and we took pictures of all the things, so they could choose later.

The next miscellaneous pages have a pocket on the right:

Even if I don't show both sides, all my tags have pictures or journaling on both the front and back sides.

One of Shae's "must-dos" at Disney World was seeing Belle. Belle lived up to her expectations, although Gaston was a little scary at first, but Belle convinced Shae he was nice now.  The pages were all about Shae and Belle. Most of the pictures were taken by the Disney photographers. They loved Shae.

The large tag in the right pocket has more pictures of Shae and Belle.

And now the LAST TWO PAGES:

I ended the book pretty simply. I bittersweet memory about Finn wanting to go back to Epcot, a quote from Walt Disney, and two pics of tired kids on the way back home. The End.

Remember how chunky this journal is?  That's why I needed so many posts to go through it.
