Feminine Birthday Card

I made this card from a sketch I saw on Pinterest--sorry I have no artist's name to go with it. I used scrap paper again, something I'm striving to do more.  The flowers are from CTMH's retired "You are Beautiful" stamp set. The sentiment is from CTMH's "Just to Say . . ." set which is one of the Cricut collections. All the edges are distressed. The ribbon/bow are from CTMH.

Masculine Birthday Card

It's that time again!

Time for a birthday? or It's Five O'clock Somewhere? Either works with this masculine card. The clock, clock hands, and hat are all from CTMH's "Hats Off" stamp set (a hostess reward). The wings are from CTMH's "Princess Wings." I used a scrap of old B&T paper (not sure what company) and did lots of white and black doodling. The three black embellishments are CTMH.

Anniversary Card

Celebrate Love CTMH Stamp

This simple card turned out SO cute! I used CTMH's "Celebrate Love" stamp set and random stamped a white strip of cs. Then, I used Copic markers to color in just the dots and centers of the flowers blue to match the blue polka-dot B&T paper. Then I added a peachy color to just the round flowers (I guess they're flowers) to match the peach polka-dot B&T paper.  The banner and sentiment are also part of the "Celebrate Love" stamp set. I added the banner with dimensional adhesive, and the card was done!

Wendy Vecchi stamped card

Some considered Her Aloof, But She Was Actually Just Shy.
This card has the same Wendy Vecchi I stamped on yesterday's card (from the Studio 490 set Graffiti Art). I used the same paper-piecing technique, colored her with Copics, and added faux pearls.  The pink background is a piece of pink cs with a CTMH flower stamp image stamped all over it, overlapping. The sentiment is also from Wendy Vecchi, this time from the A Flair for Art stamp set. The B&T mat background is the same paper I used on the dress and hat. All the edges are distressed, I dress the black lines with a fine-tipped Sharpie, the pink flowers are from Recollections, and I added tiny faux pearls to the flower centers.

Art Journal-like Birthday Card

I've been playing more with art journaling techniques lately, and this card shows several: layers and layers of ink, stamping, doodling, etc. The main image is from Wendy Vecchi, along with the "Happy Wishes" that goes all the way around the outside of the card. The wings and flowers at the bottom are from CTMH. The rest are sprays (mostly Ranger) and doodles. I paper-pieced the dress and hat on the lady, colored her with Copics, and added "pearls" for her necklace and earring.

What a trip!!! Next stop for this bunch?  Jimmy Buffett concert at Alpine Valley, Wisconsin. After that? Halloween in New Orleans (that should be interesting with this group!). After that? Maybe the Florida Gulf Coast...we're planning trip after trip after trip.

Key West Layouts (post 9)

Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes:

This layout, titled from the Buffett song, "Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes," highlights the memories and friendships of our Parrothead gang. I used the CTMH paper pack, "Confetti Wishes," which is probably meant for birthday party themes, but the colors and party feel made it perfect for this layout showing some fun times in Key West.

I like to use funny quotes people said on trips as layout journaling.  This one relates to the picture on the left of a shared rum runner.
(The drink was bigger than it looks in the photo--it was a small bucket, but the scale looks off here.)

This is my last post of layouts from the Key West trip. I'll post a whole-trip entry in a couple days.

Key West Layouts (post 8)

Paradise:

In between the drinking, laughing, and troublemaking, we did appreciate our surroundings. This layout says it all: Paradise.

The idea for the heading came from a layout I saw on Pinterest by Monique Liedtke.  Her blog can be found HERE.  I love the contrast of the black and white and separating the word on more than one line.

Not a great picture of this layout, but the partial circle of bling around the top left really helps set the feel.  These are easy to line up straight with a precut circle. I explained how to do this in a previous layout. To see how, refer to (Nick's Smiling Face layout).

Key West Layouts (post 7)

Irish Kevin's!!!

Irish Kevin's Pub on Duval Street was our after-dark establishment of choice. For the layout, I used black to reflect the night-time atmosphere. I also used pictures from around the bar as journaling.  A festive layout for a festive experience.
