 More Pics from Finn & Shae's First Airplane Ride

Shae and Finn were really good on the flights, even the longer ones. They probably enjoyed the snacks the most.

I created my own background paper with blue card stock and a cloud stencil.

I stamped each page a little differently.

Again, I had too many pictures for my layout, so I added a photo insert that held six more pictures from the flights.

Flying to Disney Layout

Back to the First Day of Vacation

I can see the end of my Disney scrapbook! Now I'm finishing up with all the odds and ends. This layout has lots of airport photos, both from Des Moines and Atlanta.

On the right side you can see an 8x12 added flip flap. Unlike the other photo-insert pages I've used, this one isn't divided into 4x6 photo slots. It's more like a mini page to decorate.

This is the page as it will appear in my book with the insert turned.

I used retired CTMH papers and cut out the title and Des Moines airport code with my Cricut.

This page is the same, only with the Atlanta airport code and pics from the Atlanta airport.

Cinderella's Castle

 The Iconic Symbol of Magic Kingdom

So many pictures of the castle at Magic Kingdom....

I used another paper from Sandy Lion for the background, which included the castle silhouette at the topo right. The paper castle on the right was cut from my Cricut, and I added Blue Lagoon Nuvo Glitter drops.

"Castle" was cut out on my Sizzex Big Shot with a Thinlets Tim Holtz alphabet.

The photo at the bottom right was made by Disney and included in our Photo Pass extras.

Notice the two photobombers in the bottom left picture of to the right (Tom & Finn).

Disney Transportation

 "Kings of the Bus"

If you stay on Disney property, you become very familiar with Disney transportation, especially the bus. We tended to take a lot of bus pictures--waiting for the bus, happy on the bus to be going somewhere fun, or dead tired on the bus on the way back to our suite. 

I used a mixture of Best of Heidi Swapp papers and Echo Parks Magical Adventure elements, plus Mickey punches and black Nuvo Crystal drops. "King of the Bus" is the term we used when sitting on the very back bench seat that sits up higher than everyone else. It's also one of the worst seats because it sits over the engine and is hot.

The strips that mimic roads are just a chevron paper cut into strips. The picture of the bus at the top was found on the Internet. I love the picture of the kids hanging on the fence anxiously waiting our bus.

Rainbow Days

 Disney World Rainbow Favorites

Finn and Shae LOVE Rainbows. If given a choice, they chose something with a rainbow theme over anything else.

The background paper is from the Sandy Lion Disney paper stack. I cut out the rainbow on my Cricut, and I handwrote the journaling and title. I added a rainbow of colors of Nuvo Crystal Drops to the title and the journaling. (That's a glare on Jess's face I didn't notice until uploading this photo.)

Jess & Neal

 Disney Couple Layout

I had several cute pics of Jess and Neal from Disney World, and because they got engaged at Disney World, I thought a layout of just them would be appropriate.

I started with a grey card stock background and added the heart paper from the paper pack Best of Heidi Swapp, cropped down so there was a half-inch margin all around. The three 4x6 elements are arranged around the edge of the patterned paper. The bottom-left element is a cut-apart from the Echo Park Magical Adventure pack. It's the yellow and white stripes with the castle silhouette. I cut apart and added the sticker of Mickey and Minnie watching fireworks so it looks like they're watching them at Cinderella's castle. The center is a Mickey punch with a heart punch centered on it. I added Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew to the heart.

Magic Kingdom Layout

 Classic Main Street, U.S.A.

I hadn't done a white background layout yet, so I went with that here. I like the starkness and the contrast between the pictures and other papers against the white background.

I used some black cardstock, and some scraps from my Echo Park paper pack Magic Adventure. The large Mickey is an old sticker I had, and I added some Nuvo crystal drops. The title is made from a chipboard alphabet I had in my stash. I also added a "hidden Mickey" Nuvo drop as the period after "St." The phone at the bottom is a photo that came with our Photo Pass.

This page has more papers from Echo Park and some Mickey punches. The long picture at the top is a postcard we picked up several trips ago. There's nothing like watching kids' excitement as they walk down Main Street toward Cinderella's Castle for the first time.

Jessy / Jessie Layout

 Disney World's Best-Dressed Tourist

Jess prides herself on looking the part. This Jessy / Jessie layout showcases Jess's best Disney Tourist Look. It's made with Echo Park's Magical Adventure papers with some leftover from Woody & Jessie stickers.

In case you can't read the journaling well (done on my vintage typewriter), here are Jess's must-haves for a Disney tourist: Ears, Sunglasses, Magic Band, Battery-Operated Fan, Cooling Towel, Pin Lanyard, and Fanny Pack.

Millennium Falcon Smuggler's Run

 Another Star Wars Galaxy's Edge Layout

This layout is from the Millennium Falcon ride. They're just a little different, but the two pages are mostly the same papers from CTMH with added gold metallic paper to mimic the inside of the Millennium Falcon cockpit.

I found the sign in the upper left online. Note the time I took on the two pictures on the right to wait until most of the people were out of the way.

I added a lot of Nuvo Crystal drops to look like stars. I (obviously) handwrote the journaling with a gold metallic marker.

More Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

 "Family Memories"

This is just a quick layout of some more pictures from Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. I like how happy they all are in the first picture and then Finn and Shae are SO tired in the last two pictures on the side. Seems about right for every Disney day. This page was made with scraps from my Echo Park Magical Adventure paper pack. I added Nuvo Crystal Drops and a flat clear disc to the camera lens. The tickets were part of a paper pattern, and I fussy cut them out.

Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Layout

 Fun for all "four" of us!

This layout makes me laugh. Neal, Jess, & I rode the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Disney Studios, and a guy from the single rider line joined us and sat by me. I really didn't want him in the picture, so I cut out a picture of Tom's face and put it over that guy's face.  Just to make it more ridiculous I used the happiest picture I could find, scaled it too big, and popped it up with dimensional adhesive. The other photo on the page is from our Photo Pass disc.

(And the t-shirt "Tom" has on is a Hard Rock t-shirt. LOL!)

Tower of Terror Layout

 Welcome to the Twilight Zone . . .

The Hollywood Tower of Terror is a great ride and always deserves a layout.

I cut out the spider & webs and the title with my Cricut. The brown cardstock is the background, and the black layer of cardstock has the edge punched with a Martha Stewart punch. I used black ink all around the page and on the webs and letters.

The bottom right photo is Jess & Neal's ride photo. The picture of the elevator door is from our photo pass. The journaling is the script that Rod Sterling narrates when you get on the ride.

The Magic Kingdom Depot Layout

Add Ons to Typical Disney Themed Paper 

I bought this piece of Disney copyrighted paper as a single sheet off a store rack. I don't know why. I bet I've had something similar for every Disney scrapbook I've made. The over-sized Mickey silhouette looks great, but then it's always a challenge deciding how to add pictures yet still show the paper. 

This time I added only one picture and a few embellishments to the bottom and the right. Then I added Nuvo drops to the paper and embellishments for some dimension and to make it sparkle a little.  Here are some places I added the drops:

Pirates of the Caribbean Layout

A Magic Kingdom Classic

The background of this page is black cardstock, then the brown piece from the Sandy Lion Disney stack of papers (I know this is actually themed for Peter Pan, but it works), and then the blue paper on top. I tore, crumpled, and ink distressed the brown and blue papers' edges and added a few creases in the center and inked those to make everything look old and more like a treasure map. I printed the title scroll with Word, using a text box and shape. "Yippeeeeee!" is an old sticker, but I thought it worked with Jess's & Neal's bored looks, which I blew up from the ride photo, because that was my only picture from Pirates.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Layout

 Another All-Disney Photos Layout

We only had Disney ride photos for this Magic Kingdom attraction, so I blew up and cut out Jess & Neal from one of those photos for the third photo. The title are stickers, and I cut out all the "jewels" and triangle metallic pieces. The round "jewels" are made by punching circles and then cutting them into six pieces and then putting them back together on a black punched circle. The patterned paper is a wood grain, and I added a lot of Nuvo drops and wrote "Hi-Ho!" randomly on it. I haven't ridden the ride personally, but Jess said there are "gems" everywhere, so it works.

EPCOT layout

 Jess & Neal at Spaceship Earth

This is a pretty plain layout, but I plan to have it be the title page for my EPCOT section of the trip. The background paper is retired CTMH. The paper with circles is from the paper pad "Best of Heidi Swapp." The title was cut out with a Sizzix Thinlits die set 664729. It contains an alphabet in all caps, that you can use three different ways: shadow & letter (as I did here), letter only, or shadow only.

The Great Goofini Layout

 A Goofy Layout from Magic Kingdom

I used another paper pack that's retired from CTMH. I'm putting in a conscious effort to use up out some of my paper stash. This one, however, fits perfectly with Goofy's Great Goofini theming and costume.

The picture on the top left of this page is one of our favorites of Shae from the whole trip. She was completely immersed into the magic of Disney.

The stars were punched out of the patterned papers and then put on other coordinating papers to go with Goofy's theming and the star paper that was part of the paper collection.

I typed the journaling in Word, highlighting a few phrases in coordinating colors, and printed it on white cardstock. 

I also printed "The Great Goofini" on cardstock after typing it in Word. In the bottom left picture of this page, Shae is so happy that she's almost crying.

Mickey Mouse Layout

 Classic Mickey at Epcot

Mickey Mouse in his traditional red pants and black jacket is only located in EPCOT (or at least he was when we visited).

All of the papers on the first page are from Echo Park's "Magical Adventure" series, except for the mat under the picture--not sure what that's from. The Mickey silhouette is a punch.

I made the mouse ears (white with blue polka dots) just by using my Mickey punch and cutting off the bottom part of the head. I hand wrote "Mickey at EPCOT" with white paint pen.

I was especially happy about this character greeting because Finn was a little nervous when we saw Mickey at Magic Kingdom and wouldn't be in the pictures. So, it was great for Finn to meet Mickey and to get a picture of him with Mickey in it.

Sci-Fi Theater at Disney Studios

 A Retro Layout

The Sci-Fi Theater is an indoor drive-in theater in Disney Studios. It really seems like a drive-in when you're in it. We've enjoyed it before, but this time our table was pretty dark, and I have this weird thing about having to see the food I'm eating. This is especially true in a restaurant--I want to know if there's a foreign object in my food.

I always like pink, light blue or teal, and black for retro layouts and cards. I had some old papers in my CTMH stash that fit the theme of the restaurant perfectly.

I think the paper was called Road Trip, but I'm not sure about that. The bottom picture is a Disney stock photo from our Photo Pass package.

Animal Kingdom's Safari Layout

 Using Extra Photo Pages

The kids weren't too thrilled with the Safari at Animal Kingdom, but it was hot, and they've been to a lot of zoos.

The background paper is from my stash, and I added the brown cardstock and the Bazzill "Just the Edge" strip. (I wish Bazzill still made these!)

I used Word for the title and printed it on cardstock, and then I made the animal print with black and gold Nuvo Drops. I drew the "elephant tracks."

I did the small journaling on my vintage typewriter. The stickers were from my stash of unused ephemera from a previous trip. Again, I drew the animal tracks.

 

I had several extra photos from the safari, mostly of animals and us looking at animals. I added an extra photo sleeve to go between the two pages of the layout. It's a great way to add extra pictures that don't fit on your layout when you want to include them but not do an additional layout for the same thing.
